7 Amazing Easter Gifts to Try in 2019

If you’re anything like me, any excuse to stock up on chocolate is a massive win. My family have never done the Easter Sunday roast thing, opting instead for an Easter egg hunt before heading off to a car show (we are a family of unashamed petrolheads). While your family may go along the more traditional route, the fact remains. When do you say enough chocolate is enough? Perhaps when its July and you’re still chowing down on Lindt chocolate bunnies? Today we’re throwing some alternative Easter gift inspiration at you, to give awesome gifts to friends and family without the calorific value! We’ve included a mix of both child and adult-friendly gifts, to make sure you’ve got everyone covered this Easter.

Who Doesn’t Love an Easter Gift Experience?

I’ll preach it ’till I die, experiences truly make amazing gifts! Making new memories, learning new skills, and doing things you never thought you would do are all part of what make experience gifts truly special. Now I’ve justified myself, let’s kick it off!

Chocolate Workshops

“But Claire, weren’t you going to give us alternatives to chocolate Easter gifts?” – yes my friend, and this still counts, because everyone knows that the calories in chocolate you make yourself doesn’t count. Chocolate workshops are perfect for adults and children, and will give everyone a new-found appreciation for the work that goes into creating all that chocolate! Have a look around your local craft shops to see if there are any chocolate workshops in your local area, for a guaranteed amazing afternoon. Let’s face it, who wouldn’t love to be surrounded by chocolate for a few hours?

Farm Park Experiences

Maybe more for kids (although I’m 22 and would be at the front of the line), taking a trip to a farm park over Easter is the perfect way to usher in Spring. From the beautiful baby lambs, to the gorgeous baby piglets and adorable little chicks, Springtime on a farm is just about as magical as you can get.

Here’s what you really came for: The Alternative Easter Gifts

My mum loathes chocolate. Even the smell is enough to turn her stomach! So, sometimes buying a chocolate alternative is a necessity, although may be pretty hard around such a chocolate-centred holiday. That’s not to say you can’t go out and get beautiful chocolate bouquets or thoughtful personalised chocolate slabs if your recipient is into that! I’m only here to show you that an Easter gift doesn’t have to involve chocolate and can be just as special.

Egg Decorating Kits

I have fond memories as a child of painting an egg with all colours under the sun (I had no colour co-ordination). This was usually accompanied by a self-decorated Easter bonnet, containing so many chick decorations per square inch that I’m surprised I wasn’t handed into the RSPCA. While it wasn’t chocolate-related, it was an integral part of my Easter as a child! You can find beautiful Easter egg decorating kits online, that make great gifts for kids to give them an amazing Easter.

Flowers

While the average child may fail to appreciate a bouquet of flowers, they can be a wonderfully thoughtful gift for your friends and family. Stick to Spring-related pastel colours or go all out and give them a bunch of daffodils! Pro tip: while they won’t last as long afterwards, giving someone a bunch of daffodils in bloom has a certain… charm, compared to giving them a bunch of green sticks.

If you want your flowers to do a little more than look pretty for a week, try soap flowers! They look almost like the real thing, smell amazing, and when you put them in warm water, they take your bath-times to a next level!

Can you even tell these aren’t real flowers?!

Spring Cleaning

Spring is my favourite season of the year. There is only one thing I dread: Spring cleaning. If there is one thing I will try and avoid at all costs, it’s dragging the bleach and marigolds from out under the sink. Wouldn’t it be great if someone could just magically give you a chores pass? Bingo, the perfect gift idea for children or lazy housemates! If foregoing the chores just isn’t an option, have you considered giving a Spring cleaning gift? They’re perfect for that extra bit of motivation… or a subtle hint.

Soft Toys

Another gift idea aimed mainly at children (and childish 22-year-old bloggers) – soft toys! Treat your kids to their very own cuddly Easter bunny, and they’ll forget all about the chocolate they wanted from the real one.

Home Decoration

Once your home has been cleaned from top to bottom, there’s nothing like a new decoration to breathe new life into a room. Claim your rightful throne in the form of a personalised cushion cover, so no one will ever mistake the sofa as theirs again. If you prefer something less territorial, how about a gorgeous vintage-style old map print, personalised to an exact location of your choosing? Little personalised décor and mementos are perfect for injecting some personality into a room in a stylish and unique way.

A lot of people love Easter for all the joy (and chocolate) it brings. As we all get a bit more conscious of what we are putting in our bodies, giving chocolate alternatives as gifts is a great way to keep the spirit of Easter alive… just with a few less calories.
